Why Corrugated Packaging is a Challenge |
The corrugated fiberboard industry has been modeled for scale-economies since its inception. In response to customers’ demand for a lower cost structure, the industry has invested in bigger-better-faster machines to exploit economies-of-scale. This strategy is the polar-opposite of the Lean, Demand Flow®, Six Sigma and TOC business models that globally competitive manufacturers are adopting. |
controlling Costs |
Rohleder Group has developed strategies for controlling the cost of corrugated packaging—regardless of the client’s business model. We focus on simplifying complex packaging programs, aligning the design strategy and supply chain strategy with the factory’s business model and eliminating non-value added activity and processes. We work to make the packaging spend more attractive to Best-in-Class suppliers. |
